It was reported yesterday that Mae Young Classic (MYC) competitor Nicole Matthews had been banned from competing in the U.S for five years after it was found she did not have the correct work VISA.
Matthews, from British Columbia, Canada, made it to the round of 16 in the 2018 MYC, where she lost to Tegan Nox.
She has now responded to the news via Twitter, and see to be taking it all rather well.
Timing, eh?
I’ll be fine, everyone. That’s all I’m going to say about the elephant in the room.— Nicole Matthews ?? (@nmatthewsninja) September 27, 2018
Many have compared her situation to that of another Canadian wrestler, Mike Bailey, who also found himself banned from wrestling in the USA for five years in 2016, after he too was found to be wrestling without a work VISA.
We wish her all the best, and hopefully her career will not be too badly affected by the ban.
