The status of Rey Mysterio’s relationship with WWE has been a hotly debated topic in the wrestling rumor mill since his appearance in January’s Royal Rumble; and it looks like we might finally have answers as to when we will next see Mysterio in a WWE ring.
Name botch on that last tweet! Rey Mysterio is scheduled for the Greatest Royal Rumble.
No word yet on what Rey Mystery will be doing on that show.

As first reported by WrestleVotes, who have built a great reputation recently for breaking backstage WWE news, Rey Mysterio is scheduled for the Greatest Royal Rumble event at the end of April.
The news has yet to be verified by an official announcement by WWE, but we might not hear anything about Mysterio’s appearance until the actual event. While this Rumble event is something quite different from anything seen before in WWE, it’s not uncommon for the company to hold back some big names in order to put some surprises into the Royal Rumble match type.
Recently there have been reports that Mysterio has been backstage at WWE events, including Wrestlemania, with many outlets speculating that he is due to return on a part time basis in the company for a limited run.
The Greatest Royal Rumble event is unlikely to be the beginning of that run, instead representing a one off appearance similar to January’s appearance, but it is great to see WWE and Rey currently have a good relationship – which may allow for more appearances at a later date.
