It was reported yesterday by the very accurate Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast that AEW is planning on introducing a second women’s championship.
Zarian has now gone into more detail on his report, and has revealed the name of the belt will be the TBS Championship, and will therefore presumably be introduced when AEW Dynamite moves to TBS in January 2022.
Zarian broke the news while speaking to Denise Salcedo on her Speak Now Pro Wrestling Show, which we would highly recommend you watch here.
He also added smoke to the fire of a potential trios championship also being introduced by AEW, but didn’t confirm whether there were any hard plans for this to happen.
AEW currently only has one women’s championship, which is still held by Britt Baker after she managed to overcome Ruby Soho in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam last night.
AEW NEWS REPORT: @AndrewZarian reported some news today on my show. He said their will be a secondary Women’s Championship on AEW and it will be a TBS Championship belt.
Also make sure to give him a follow, he’s been breaking a lot of news.
