Six months following Royal Rumble 2024, former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi has reflected on her return.
At WWE Royal Rumble 2024, former TNA Knockouts World Champion Naomi, real name Trinity Fatu, made her return to the company for the first time in nearly two years.
Back in 2022, both Trinity and Mercedes Mone walked out of a Monday Night Raw and would subsequently exit the company. However, she is now back in WWE and on the SmackDown roster.
In a recent interview with WWE Deutschland, Naomi addressed her and Mone’s WWE walkout and her subsequent return to the company. She said:
“That too felt like a relief, you know what I mean? Just all the negativity surrounding the walkout and everything that Mercedes and I have experienced.”
“It just felt like a big weight off my shoulders to be back home. To be accepted back home, and just to have the opportunity to continue where I started and finish the story; my journey.”
“Just to have the opportunity in my career where I started and finish things the right way, and to reconnect with my WWE fans. Just to push through that entire time in my career.”
“It felt really really good and special to be back. People made me feel that. Even backstage, you know, I was a little nervous, but it was like I had never been away.”
Naomi last wrestled in a win over Blair Davenport on the July 12 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Bianca Belair sent a message to her Big 3 teammate following Davenport attacking Naomi after the bout, which you can read here.
