The Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio appears to have beaten WWE to the punch in announcing a big time title match for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Becky Lynch made her shocking return to WWE at SummerSlam, defeating Bianca Belair in 27 seconds to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the fourth time.
On last night’s (August 27) episode of SmackDown, Bianca Belair won an Elimination Four-Way match, besting Liv Morgan, Carmella and Zelina Vega, to earn a future opportunity at the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
WWE themselves never announced that Lynch vs Belair would be taking place at the event, although that would seem the most logical place for it.
Nationwide Arena’s YouTube channel however, did not get the memo, as they shared a video hyping up that the match will in fact take place at the event on September 26. You can see the video below.
It has been reported since SummerSlam that Becky Lynch will be positioned as a heel moving forward, and that the plan is for her to help elevate Bianca Belair, which could hint towards Belair reclaiming her championship at the show.
