More details have emerged on Ronda Rousey’s current injury, revealing the nature of the issue she’s dealing with.
After a backstage brawl on the March 3 edition of SmackDown, it was noted that Rousey was injured, causing the planned tag bout of Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs Tegan Nox & Natalya to be changed to a singles bout.
It was later reported by PWTorch that Rousey was legitimately dealing with a re-aggravated injury, but wasn’t expected to miss WrestleMania 39.
Per PWInsider, Rousey is dealing with a hairline fracture in her arm. This report also stated that there have been no discussions about Rousey missing WrestleMania.
It was previously reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that Rousey and Baszler are slated to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at the April 1-2 event.
This title recently changed hands, with Becky Lynch and Lita defeating Dakota Kai & IYO SKY for the gold on the February 27 edition of Raw.
A non-title match involving the champions has now been announced for WrestleMania, with Lynch and Lita set to team with Trish Stratus to battle Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY.
An update recently emerged on plans for the women’s tag titles at WrestleMania 39, which you can read more about right here.
