New AEW Signing Confirmed

New AEW Signing Confirmed AEW

A new signing for AEW has been confirmed during tonight’s episode of Dynamite – the last episode before Double Or Nothing.

One of the several title matches at Double Or Nothing this Sunday will see Toni Storm defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Mina Shirakawa.

Shirakawa made a few appearances in AEW last year as part of the storyline between Storm and Mariah May, but Shirakawa was still under contract with Japanese promotion STARDOM at the time.

However, news recently emerged that her time with STARDOM had come to an end.

After she returned to AEW last week and had a match in the Dynamite main event this week, Tony Khan has confirmed that Shirakawa has indeed signed with AEW.

Last week, Shirakawa won a four-way title eliminator match by pinning Storm, which earned her the title match at Double Or Nothing.

In tonight’s main event, she defeated former TBS Champion Julia Hart while Storm watched on as part of the commentary team.

After the match, Hart attempted to attack Shirakawa, but as Shirakawa turned things around, Hart’s ally Skye Blue came out to turn it into a two-on-one situation.

Storm then entered the ring as she and Shirakawa took out Hart and Blue, but their alliance was short-lived as Shirakawa then attacked Storm at ringside.

AEW Dynamite went off the air with the teams in Sunday’s Anarchy in the Arena match brawling, including an appearance by new Death Riders ally Gabriel Kidd, who isn’t officially part of the match.
