AEW
The official name for a new AEW tag team has officially been confirmed ahead of this weekend’s Full Gear pay-per-view event.
Ahead of Full Gear, the ‘Tailgate Brawl’ pre-show will take place on TNT and HBO Max, as has become tradition for the past few pay-per-views.
Among the matches set for the Tailgate Brawl is a tag team match that will see Big Boom AJ return to the ring as he teams with QT Marshall against Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta, known as RPG Vice.
Big Boom AJ has only had three AEW matches to date, and his debut actually saw him face Marshall at Full Gear 2024, almost exactly a year before this match where they team together.
For that match, Marshall countered Big Boom AJ’s promises to bring the “boom” by bringing the “doom,” with custom entrance graphics and gear covered in the word “doom” in a similar comic-styles to AJ’s “boom” branding.
Now that they’re teaming together a year later, the “doom” theme is making a return for Marshall, only this time, in synergy with AJ rather than against him.
The official AEW match card graphics list AJ and Marshall as “Boom & Doom,” so that is their official team name heading into this match.
It remains to be seen whether the team will last longer than just for this one night.
