AEW CEO Tony Khan has confirmed the new name of a tag team as the tournament to crown inaugural champions continues.
The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament has come down to Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale in the final against the winner of the semi-final between Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa and Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir.
Bayne and Shafir were a makeshift team put together just before the tournament due to an injury suffered by Bayne’s usual partner Penelope Ford, but they advanced past TayJay in the opening round.
Ahead of the second semi-final, AEW CEO Tony Khan promoted the match on social media by listing the team of Bayne and Shafir as the ‘MegaProblems.’
This is a evidently combination of Bayne’s nickname ‘The Megasus,’ and Shafir’s nickname ‘The Problem.’
Meanwhile, Storm and Shirakawa are known as the ‘Timeless Love Bombs,’ while confirmed finalists Cameron and Nightingale are billed as the ‘Babes of Wrath.’
The semi-final between the MegaProblems and the Timeless Love Bombs on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite will be a Hardcore Holiday Death Match.
