After Cody Rhodes said he wasn’t the ace on AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin has proved him wrong. In their match at AEW Full Gear, Allin was able to capture the TNT Championship.
This was the fourth time that Allin and Rhodes had wrestled. The first took place last year at Fyter Fest when they wrestled to a 20-minute draw. Since then, Rhodes had gotten the better of Allin, beating him in two straight.
Heartbreaking for me, but a special night for @DarbyAllin – the rookies aren’t rookies anymore. They are stars.
You can be a loner, but now you’re a leader.
Thank you @AEW and the fans here tonight and watching on PPV. It was an honor to be your champion. pic.twitter.com/AEhAEEzW2n

Rhodes worked over Allin’s arm for the majority of the match. Allin first injured the arm when Cody dropped him in a hammerlock on the stage. From there, it was all Rhodes with Allin only getting brief moments of offense. However, his offense ended up being enough as he pinned Rhodes with a roll-up.
He did not get to celebrate long as Team Taz soon hit the ring. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks took Allin out and nearly broke his arm before being run off by Will Hobbs.
This is Allin’s first title win in AEW and his second win on pay per view. His first came at Revolution earlier this year when he defeated Sammy Guevara.
