New Champion Crowned on WWE NXT

We have a new NXT Cruiserweight Champion after tonight’s edition of NXT.  Angel Garza has defeated Lio Rush to become the new Cruiserweight Champion.

NXT appears to have gone with the hot hand.  Angel Garza has really gotten over in his matches on NXT.

He was in the NXT Breakout Tournament and has also had matches with Tommaso Ciampa and Lio Rush.  It is clear the ladies are in love with the most beautiful man on the planet.

However, the guys like him too.  What’s not to like? Garza is smooth in the ring and has a certain charisma about him that’s hard to teach or even explain.

He’s gotten over without cutting many promos.  He just seems to jump off the camera and connect with the fans.

Garza submitted Rush tonight with a version of The Wing Clipper.  It was sort of like a reverse Full Nelson in a seated position.

The match was really great and the final 5 or so minutes were absolutely fantastic.  However, the big night didn’t end there for Garza.

After the match, during the commercial break, Garza pulled his girlfriend in the ring and proposed to her.  She said yes.

WrestleTalk would like to congratulate Garza both on his big championship win and for getting engaged.  Where the Cruiserweight Title division goes next is anyone’s guess.
