It has just been announced that we’re getting a brand new set of title belts on NXT, with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship being revealed on tonight’s show.
The announcement was set up last week, after Adam Pearce interfered to make sure Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. William Regal would cut a short promo following an argument with Pearce, stating the landscape of NXT would be changing.
Based on the fact they won the Dusty Classic and were screwed out of their titles last week, William Regal actually announced Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez as the champions. They cut a quick promo about how they are great.

It didn’t take long for them to get some challengers. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart challenged them and the match was made for tonight. Will the champs have a short reign or will they be successful in their defense?

The announcement is a bit surprising, given that the women’s tag belts are already supposed to be floating belts, meaning they can already be won and defended on NXT, as well as Raw and SmackDown. These belts will seemingly eliminate the need for those to be defended on NXT.
