New Championship Match Added To AEW: Double Or Nothing

Tonight on the May 13, 2020 edition of AEW: Dynamite, there was a very important match for the AEW Women’s Division. Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, Kris Statlander, and Penelope Ford did battle in a 4-way match.

Prior to the match, nothing official had been announced, but it was heavily implied this match could go a long way into determining who would face Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing.

Turns out, they knew what they were talking about. Hikaru Shida ended up winning the match.

After she won, it was announced that she would be facing Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing. Shida has been ranked as the Number 1 Contender for a number of weeks.

By winning the match, Shida sealed the deal. She ended up pinning Penelope Ford.

No one broke up the pin because Britt Baker had Statlander locked in the Lock Jaw outside of the ring. She kept it locked in even after the bell rand.

Shida makes a lot of sense as the number 1 contender. While she may not have had a lot of time on the mic, she is probably the most polished wrestler in the women’s division and will most likely get the best match out of Nyla Rose.

While many fans want Shida to be the champion, it would seem like Rose will be the heavy favorite heading into the show. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk for more Double or Nothing news as it develops.
