
A new championship match has been added to the WWE Backlash 2025 premium live event in St Louis, Missouri on May 10.
The card for the show is now at five matches as of tonight’s May 5 episode of Raw in Omaha, Nebraska.
A couple of weeks ago on the Raw after WrestleMania in Las Vegas, Penta challenged Dominik Mysterio for his newly won Intercontinental Championship.
That match saw JD McDonagh return make his from injury to help Mysterio retain in his title.
Penta then scored a win against McDonagh in a match on Raw tonight.
Shortly after Penta’s win, it was announced that Mysterio will defend his title in a rematch against Penta at WWE Backlash this coming Saturday.
The show is set to be headlined by John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against hometown hero Randy Orton.
Also set is a four-way for the United States Championship as Jacob Fatu defends against Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest and LA Knight, as well as Pat McAfee vs GUNTHER, and a Women’s Intercontinental Title match with Becky Lynch challenging current champion Lyra Valkyria.
