New Details Emerge On Status Of AEW Video Game

While there aren’t many details known about the upcoming AEW video game, a new report from Fightful Select confirms several points of information.

The AEW game, being developed by Osaka, Japan-based developer Yuke’s, continues work on one of the most hotly anticipated wrestling games in recent memory. While Yuke’s serves as the developer, there is not yet an announced publisher. According to the report, when a publisher is finalized, there would likely be a further announcement of a release date, additional game details.

Per Fightful, they have been told developers are working on a story mode and have gotten input from some actual wrestlers themselves. Undoubtedly obtaining copious input from Kenny Omega, Fightful’s sources note that Omega has specifically stated multiple times he is determined for the game to be a success.

From Fightful’s sources, it does not sound as though any AEW talent have been called upon for voice-overs while some have had reference photos taken but no additional information with the exception of the new AEW Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa who mentioned to Fightful in an interview that she has already seen an initial version of herself in the game.

Kenny Omega has previously spoken about the AEW video game, including confirming cross-platform play for the game. Recently, Tony Khan noted recording content for the upcoming video game title at recent AEW tapings.
