It was reported last night that Paul Heyman had been relieved of his duties as Executive Director of Raw. Now, we know some details about who Heyman tried to push during his tenure.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has reported that Heyman did his best to push Drew McIntyre, Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza, Buddy Murphy, and Apollo Crews. Some of these pushes worked better than others.
Heyman is said to have been the driving force behind getting the Latino wrestlers to work with each other. Vince McMahon reportedly didn’t know much about Garza upon his main roster debut but Heyman pushed for him to be used.
The report also lists Cedric Alexander and Ricochet as guys that Heyman tried to push. However, these were guys that McMahon repeatedly pulled the plug on. If you have been watching WWE of late, this has been pretty evident.
The report also states that there was a lighthearted joke going that Heyman was pushing the “catering crew”. This stems from stars like AoP, Andrade, Zelina Vega, Aleister Black, and Buddy Murphy being relegated to the SmackDown catering area in the last year when creative had nothing for them.
