This year’s SummerSlam show is very much up in the air. We have been getting updates recently regarding the status of the event and now we have some new details.
The highly reputable WrestleVotes Twitter account has revealed several details about the event. These include what WWE and the host city want, WWE wanting fans, and when we might see the show.
What I’ve learned from sources on SummerSlam.
– WWE wants to remain as is, city of Boston has made it clear that’s not likely
– WWE is activity hunting for a new location w/ fans
– Keep an eye on the South, FL & GA.
– Date MAY be pushed into September
– No word on TakeOver— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) May 13, 2020

No World on TakeOver”
It is clear WWE wants things to return to normal but that is not currently in their control. The Boston Mayor recently made comments making it seem unlikely for large gatherings to form in the city anytime soon.
The post makes it appear that the southern states of Florida and Georgia are the ones to watch for a potential relocation. These are the two states where WWE and AEW have filmed since March. The show may also be pushed until September.
Finally, there is still no word on the status of NXT Takeover. The last Takeover event was held in Portland in February.
