A new documentary premiering today on YouTube features popular wrestling stars AEW’s Ricky Starks, alum Big Swole and indie darling Willow Nightingale.
The film which will be premiering later today on YouTube will discuss personal stories, using a combination of interviews with not only Black in-ring performers but also Black wrestling content creators, the film is said to be both interesting and moving.
Recently, Jade Cargill shared her feelings about representation with Player’s Tribune as well as The Root regarding hoping to be an inspiration to Black girls everywhere.

Documentary On Being Black In Wrestling “Wrestling With Whiteness” Set To Release

The film features the stories of the following professional wrestlers and content creators: Ricky Starks, Alex Kane, Big Swole, Caprice Coleman, Darius Lockhart, JDX, Shane Taylor, Suge D, Eli Isom, Kaun, Moses, Rev. Ron Hunt, Tasha Steelz, Willow Nightingale, Trey Shaw, Scotland, Public Enemies Podcast, Sat E. Niangi, Victor Taylor Perry, MuscleManMalcolm, and Will Washington.
The following shared experiences are highlighted in the film: Brotherhood/Sisterhood, Transformation of Role Models, Accurate & Authentic Character Representation, Ways To Change The Community, and Advice To Future Stars.
