We have a new IWGP United States Champion and this particular title change has, for many, been a long time coming.
At last night’s NJPW G1 Special in San Francisco, California – headlined by Kenny Omega vs Cody for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship – the charismatic Juice Robinson dethroned ‘Switchblade’ Jay White in a stunning outing which further proved what a phenomenal talent the new champion is. After a breathless exchange, Juice countered the Blade Runner with a roll-up for the victory.

Plying his trade predominantly in the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’, Robinson has been destined for great things for a while. His character and ring-work were one of the shining lights of this year’s New Japan Cup, while the promo on his broken hand may be severely non-PG, but is still masterful and a piece of art Dusty Rhodes would be proud of.
As the new IWGP United States Champion, Juice has a great career ahead of him with many breathtaking clashes in the pipeline. Just imagine what he could do with the likes of Okada, Tanahashi, Naito, and Chris Jericho to name a few. Your writer would love to see his full potential as a main event star shine through, however. If only there was a current IWGP Heavyweight Champion that could bring that out of him…
…oh wait a minute. Kenny Omega vs. Juice Robinson I hear you shout? My wallet is open, I don’t care what you remove from it NJPW, just take my money.
Tell us what you think about Juice Robinson, his championship victory, and where you see him going in the months to come on Twitter and Discord now.
