New IWGP United States Champion Crowned At NJPW King Of Pro Wrestling

Lance Archer has defeated Juice Robinson to win the IWGP United States Championship. This is Archer’s first singles championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The match was originally supposed to be Juice Robinson challenging Jon Moxley for the title but due to Moxley being unable to make it to Japan because of the typhoon, he was stripped of the championship. Lance Archer was entered into the match as the replacement.

The match was contested under no disqualification rules and both men took full advantage of the stipulation. Archer chokeslammed Juice through a table, Juice hit a cannonball through a table and Archer delivered the Blackout onto a pile of chairs.

Ultimately, Archer locked on the EBD Claw and pinned Robinson to win the match and the title. After the match, David Finlay made his return to save Robinson. Finlay had been recovering from an injury for most of 2019.
