The first round of the New Japan Cup has now concluded. After another night of New Japan Pro Wrestling action, the second round has been revealed as another four men have advanced in the tournament.
BUSHI and YOH competed in the first match of the night. It was one of the matches highlighted in our list of first-round matches to watch. Unfortunately, it was greatly hurt by the lack of a crowd. These two have plenty of history together but the lack of a crowd killed much of the heat they had.
Both YOSHI-HASHI vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan and EVIL vs. Satoshi Kojima were said to be excellent matches. New Japan continues to deliver good matches since returning so make sure to check these out. Here are the full results:
- BUSHI def. YOH
- YOSHI-HASHI def. Hiroyoshi Tenzan
- Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, SHO & Toru Yano DRAW (Double CO) Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, Shingo Takagi & Hiromu Takahashi
- Hirooki Goto def. Yujiro Takahashi
- EVIL def. Satoshi Kojima
This means BUSHI, YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto, and EVIL have advanced to the second round. Together they join Kazuchika Okada, Yuji Nagata, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA, Togi Makabe, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, SHO, Taiji Ishimori, TAICHI, and Kota Ibushi.
