The field for the 2021 NJPW New Japan Cup USA tournament is set, with the brackets now revealed for the single-elimination competition.
Last Sunday, Will Ospreay defeated Shingo Takagi to win the New Japan Cup. The US edition of the tournament is set to begin on April 2, with the first round matches recently being revealed.
Lio Rush will take on Clark Conners on one side of the bracket. The winner of that match will face the victor of the Brody King vs Chris Dickinson clash. On the other side of the bracket, Ren Narita will battle Tom Lawlor. The winner will advance to the semi-final to face either Hikuleo or Fred Rosser (FKA Darren Young).

The first match of round 1 will take place on the April 2 episode of NJPW Strong, and tournament matches will continue throughout the month.
The New Japan Cup USA winner will receive a future IWGP US Championship match. The current champion, Jon Moxley, recently defeated the 2020 New Japan Cup winner KENTA.
KENTA and CM Punk have recently reacted to the GTS being used on ROH 19th Anniversary. You can read more about that here.
