New PROGRESS World Champion Crowned At Chapter 139 PROGRESS

A new PROGRESS World Champion was crowned at Chapter 139: Warriors Come Out To Play on August 28.

During the show, former WWE star Big Damo defended his title against Dan Moloney. The match ended via disqualification, before Spike Trivet cashed in the guaranteed title opportunity he earned by winning the Thunderbastard match at Chapter 136.

Trivet ultimately defeated Damo to become the fifth athlete to hold the PROGRESS World Championship this year. Cara Noir entered 2022 as champion, before losing the gold to Jonathan Gresham at Chapter 130.

Gresham was stripped of the title at Chapter 134, before Chris Ridgeway won the Super Strong Style 16 tournament for the vacant championship in June. Big Damo had only won the championship at Chapter 137 on August 13.
