RUSH captured the ROH World Championship at Death Before Dishonor last night, defeating former champion Matt Taven.
Taven had held the title for 175 days, winning it in a three-way ladder match a April’s G1 Supercard show that also included then-champion Jay Lethal and Marty Scurll.
This is RUSH’s first title in ROH as he only signed with the promotion in January following a decorated career in CMLL.
The win makes RUSH the first ever Mexican-born World Champion in the promotion’s history.
There was also a title change for the Women of Honor title at Death Before Dishonor, as Angelina Love defeated Kelly Klein.
