New Stipulations Added To NXT Match This Wednesday

NXT General Manager William Regal has announced new stipulations for an NXT match taking place on Wednesday.

Karrion Kross vs NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar was originally scheduled for the February 17 episode of NXT. This match was postponed a week, reportedly for medical reasons.

The on-screen reason this match was pulled was because Escobar told Regal that he wasn’t going to show up, following Kross’ threats. Regal has added new stipulations to this encounter to ensure a decision is made this Wednesday.

Regal announced on Twitter that this match will now be fought with no disqualifications. He also noted that if Escobar doesn’t show up for the match, he will be stripped of the Cruiserweight Championship.

Regal told his followers that he decided to raise the stakes, tweeting:

“In consideration of the difference in each competitors “interest” in their match I’ve decided to raise the stakes. @WWEKarrionKross vs @EscobarWWE will now be a #NoDQMatch & if our Cruiserweight Champion does not participate, he will be stripped of his title & suspended.”

Even though Kross vs Escobar is a non-title match, there is a chance that Escobar loses the Cruiserweight Championship this Wednesday.

This match is huge, with the man who’s held the Cruiserweight Championship since May 2020 battling a former NXT Champion who’s undefeated on the gold brand.

With the no disqualifications stipulation, it looks like there will be a decisive winner one way or another.

On the latest episode of NXT, Adam Cole attacked Kyle O’Reilly again, resulting in a terrifying injury angle.
