New Tag Team Champions Crowned On WWE SmackDown

The Hardy Boyz are the new WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, defeating The Usos on SmackDown Live to end a reign that began on February 17 at Elimination Chamber.

With their victory the duo become the eighth champions since the titles were introduced in September 2016.

That completes the set for Matt Hardy, who had previously held the Raw Tag Team Championship (original version), WWE / World Tag Team Championship (on six occasions) and the WCW Tag Team Championship under the WWE umbrella.

Following the victory, Lars Sullivan hit the ring and followed up his attack on Kurt Angle on Raw last night by wiping out the new champs, which will likely lead to nothing going forward. Can’t WWE just let fans celebrate without having to turn everything into heat?

It would not be a surprise at all to see The Usos move to Raw in the Superstar Shake-Up next week. They are four-time SmackDown tag champs and have wrestled everyone on the brand countless times. They could be the boost the Raw tag division needs and a rivalry with The Revival could be fantastic.
