New Title Match Set For WWE Backlash 2025 WWE

A new title match has been announced for the upcoming May 10 WWE Backlash 2025 pay-per-view in St Louis, Missouri.

Coming out of last week, one match was already confirmed for the event with John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against hometown hero Randy Orton.

On tonight’s WWE Raw, another championship match was revealed.

Becky Lynch made an appearance on tonight’s show after she turned heel last week by attacking short-lived tag team partner Lyra Valkyria.

Valkyria, the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, came out to confront Lynch, which resulted in a brawl between the two.

Before things got physical, the two women from Ireland seemingly agreed to a match at Backlash with Valkyria’s Women’s Intercontinental Title on the line.

She won the title on the January 13 episode of Raw against Dakota Kai in the tournament final to determine the first ever champion, and has reigned since then.

In potentially related news, Logan Paul looks to be set up as Jey Uso’s first challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship after he won the title from GUNTHER at WrestleMania.

However, there was no specific mention of Backlash in the exchange between Paul and Uso, so we’ll keep you posted with any further updates on that.

UPDATE – Also set for Backlash is Pat McAfee vs GUNTHER.
