A four-way championship match has been added to the May 10 WWE Backlash premium live event in St Louis, Missouri.
With three matches already set and the show just over a week away, a fourth was added during tonight’s SmackDown.
Opening tonight’s SmackDown was a match between Damian Priest and LA Knight, which saw Solo Sikoa interfere to cause a DQ, before United States Champion Jacob Fatu came out and took out Priest and Knight.
A week ago, It was Knight in a match with Drew McIntyre, which saw Priest interfere to cause the DQ.
Backstage with Fatu and Sikoa, WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Fatu would defend his title at Backlash in a three-way against both Knight and Priest.
However, Sikoa then pointed out that McIntyre technically won the match via DQ last week, so it should be him that gets a title shot.
Instead of scrapping Knight and Priest to make a Fatu vs McIntyre singles match, Aldis instead added McIntyre to the match to make it a four-way.
Other matches set for Backlash are John Cena vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, Lyra Valkyria vs Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, and Pat McAfee vs GUNTHER.
