A new TNA World Champion has now been crowned following an invasion of WWE NXT stars on tonight’s IMPACT show.
At TNA Bound For Glory, Mike Santana defeated Trick Williams to capture the TNA World Championship, ending Trick’s five month stranglehold on the belt he won at NXT Battleground.
Tonight, TNA ran it’s first episode of iMPACT since Bound For Glory, which saw Santana in non-title action against Ryan Nemeth in the show’s main event.
However, the match would end up getting thrown out after an invasion from WWE NXT stars Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Robert Stone, Tyriek Igwe, Tyson DuPont, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Brooks Jensen, who left Santana laying in the ring following the attack.
This allowed Frankie Kazarian to run out, who was a co-holder of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet alongside Nic Nemeth, who had previously been laid out backstage, to cash in his title shot and end Santana’s reign as champion.
TNA is set to run it’s No Surrender pay-per-view event tomorrow night, with the return of former WWE NXT star Dezmond Xavier teased for the show.
