A new mixed tag team in WWE is officially set for a first outing next week after forming an already-tumultuous relationship.
A few months ago, the tag team of Ashante Adonis and Cedric Alexander were moved from SmackDown to WWE NXT after a very short run together.
On NXT, they soon went their separate ways as Alexander formed a team with Je’Von Evans, and Adonis entered the singles division.
Adonis has been seen weekly backstage seemingly trying to romanticise many of the women on the roster, with Karmen Petrovic being one of them.
Over the past few weeks especially, Adonis and Petrovic have been costing each other matches via romantic glances, with Petrovic claiming she’s reluctant to engage, despite the fact she keeps doing so.
It’ll come to a head next week, as they’ll actually team up together in a mixed tag match.
Adonis and Petrovic will face Dion Lennox and Brinley Reece on next week’s episode of WWE NXT.
Petrovic had seemingly taken an interest in Lennox, much to the annoyance of Adonis, while Reece had been trying to advise Petrovic to stay away from Adonis – something that Petrovic didn’t do.
