WWE
A brand new WWE NXT Champion was crowned at tonight’s New Year’s Evil special event in Los Angeles, California.
The main event of tonight’s NXT New Year’s Evil show saw Trick Williams defend the NXT Championship against both Eddy Thorpe and Oba Femi in a triple threat match.
Earlier in the night, Thorpe was found attacked backstage, which Oba Femi later revealed was by him as payback for Thorpe hitting him with a trophy on last week’s show.
As such, the match began as just Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams, but Thorpe did eventually make his way out to the ring for the end of the match.
However, Thorpe’s involvement led to Trick Williams hitting a Trick Shot onto a steel chair, allowing Oba Femi to pin Trick to become the new NXT Champion.
Earlier in the night, the other Iron Survivor Challenge winner, Giulia, defeated Roxanne Perez to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
