A new WWE NXT Champion has now been crowned after the ‘sudden death match’ on tonight’s episode of the show on the USA Network.
Finn Balor beat Adam Cole tonight to win the title for a second time. This followed the two men finishing with a level scoreline in last week’s 60-minute ironman match which also included Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa last week.
The title had to be vacated by Karrion Kross just days after he won it at TakeOver XXX on August 22 as he dislocated a shoulder during the match he won the title from Keith Lee.
Balor last reigned with the title for 292 days from July 4, 2015 to April 21, 2016.
The Irishman becomes the third man to ever hold the championship more than once, joining fellow two-time champions Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe.
