New WWE Signing Teases Match With Absent Star

New WWE Signing Teases Match With Absent Star WWE

A reported new WWE signing has teased a potential rematch with an absent star ahead of their upcoming debut for the company.

Former New Japan Pro Wrestling star Jeff Cobb recently finished up with the promotion after a run in the 2025 New Japan Cup, as well as a reign as IWGP World Tag Team Champion.

It has been reported for months that Cobb is set to join WWE, with his name appearing on their internal rosters recently, as well as it being reported this past week that his name had come up in creative meetings within the company.

Cobb jokingly teased his ‘retirement’ following his NJPW departure, but he has now teased his potential first match in WWE.

Taking to Twitter, a fan shared footage of a match between Cobb and WWE star Bronson Reed in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, with Cobb saying:

Let’s run it back if I come back big man @BRONSONISHERE

Reed responded to Cobb’s challenge, simply sharing a gif of himself taking his sunglasses off.

Reed has recently been out of action with an injury he suffered back at Survivor Series WarGames in 2024.
