The new ring announcer for WWE SmackDown officially debuted at today’s show at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Two weeks ago, Lilian Garcia announced that the SmackDown episode in Barcelona, Spain was her last as the show’s full-time ring announcer.
Garica isn’t leaving the company, and will be working on other projects as well as being the ring announcer for the Saturday Night’s Main Event specials, of which there are four each year.
While Raw’s Alicia Taylor filled in last week, she isn’t the permanent replacement.
As announced earlier this week, ESPN’s Top Rank Boxing ring announcer, Mark Shunock, has joined WWE as the ring announcer for SmackDown. Shunock will be using the name Mark Nash.
Kicking off today’s SmackDown is Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as the build to his WrestleMania match against John Cena continues – so Mark Nash’s first official introduction was that of Rhodes.
Prior to SmackDown going on the air live on Netflix internationally, the Motor City Machine Guns beat DIY in a dark match.
