A new WWE tag team was seemingly formed on television last night after weeks of teasers from one WWE star.
On NXT television in recent weeks, Shawn Spears has appeared in backstage segments, where he has teased taking another wrestler under his wing and guiding him to the light.
Spears had been speaking to Josh Briggs in the weeks since, with Briggs caught in a conflict with former tag team partner Brooks Jensen.
Jensen recently made his return to NXT television after a worked shoot storyline where he had been making cameos in the background, attempting to crash the show.
Jensen and Briggs were set to finish their rivalry in a no disqualification match on last night’s episode of NXT, when Shawn Spears made his presence felt.
Spears appeared on the apron as Briggs went to hit Jensen with a chair, telling him to ‘hit him’.
Briggs grabbed Spears, who turned to Jensen and instructed him to hit Briggs, which he obliged.
Jensen would pick up the victory with a DDT on a steel chair, leaving with Spears after the match, seemingly confirming a new alliance between the two.
