Next Match For WWE Stars Who Requested Release WWE

The next match for two WWE stars who recently requested their release from the company has now been announced.

As we’ve documented, NXT tag team ‘The Dyad’ of Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler, formerly the Grizzled Young Veterans of James Drake and Zack Gibson, requested their releases in early April.

Later in the month, they tweeted that their request had been denied and they would be free agents in mid-October.

Despite all of this, the duo has remained active and on TV.

Their most recent match being this past Tuesday’s May 9 edition of NXT, where they lost an NXT Tag Team Championship match against defending champions Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus.

You’d be forgiven for thinking – given the situation and WWE’s history with talent who want to leave – that might have been the last we’d see of The Dyad, putting over the champions on their way out, and being made to sit out the rest of their contracts.

However, that’s not the case, because they already have another match announced for next week.

That match will be against the Creed Brothers, who ended up at ringside during the aforementioned tag title match because their affiliate in Diamond Mine, Ivy Nile, ran out to attack Ava of the Schism group that The Dyad are a part of.

All the commotion ended up being what allowed Gallus to retain the championship.

The currently announced card so far for the May 16 episode of NXT is as follows:

The Dyad vs. The Creed Brothers

Noam Dar’s Supernova Sessions talk show with guest Dragon Lee

Roxanne Perez vs. Jacy Jayne in the NXT Women’s Championship tournament

Cora Jade vs. Fallon Henley in the NXT Women’s Championship tournament
