While the next NXT TakeOver is yet to be announced, the WWE Network already has a date for the upcoming show.
It has became a WrestleMania tradition to have an NXT TakeOver event during WrestleMania week. While this didn’t happen last year, the tradition is set to return in 2021, according to the WWE Network.
During the cancellation of subscriptions, WWE Network often reminds the account holder of upcoming pay-per-views. Currently, WWE tries to convince fans not to cancel by reminding them of WrestleMania 37 (April 10 and 11), Fastlane (March 21) and NXT TakeOver (April 8).
If this listing is to be believed, the next NXT TakeOver will take place on the Thursday before WrestleMania 37.
This would be unusual, with TakeOver events usually happening at the weekend. With this year’s WrestleMania spanning Saturday and Sunday, it seems that NXT TakeOver has been pushed forward into WrestleMania week.
If this NXT TakeOver event sticks, WWE will be putting on special shows for at least 5 nights in a row come April, including NXT TakeOver, Smackdown, WrestleMania (nights 1 and 2) and Raw.
This event is yet to be officially confirmed by NXT. Recently we reported that NXT aren’t currently set to have much of a WrestleMania presence. This currently unannounced show may be NXT’s only opportunity to take over WrestleMania week.
