On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has speculated that WWE is going to be building towards a feud between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus over the coming weeks and months on Monday Night Raw.
Over the last few weeks on Raw, WWE has been having Sheamus and Drew McIntyre share the screen for backstage segments, with Sheamus trying to recruit McIntyre to the Raw Survivor Series team.
The segments have felt natural and organic, which has certainly been helped by the fact that it is well documented that Sheamus and McIntyre are good friends in real life. This was a focal point of the fantastic recent WWE 24 documentary on Drew.
Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez both noted that due to the shortage of top heels on Monday Night Raw right now, it makes sense for WWE to be building up Sheamus for a WWE Championship feud with Drew McIntyre.
It’s important to note that Dave Meltzer is not reporting that this is something WWE is planning on doing or has even considered, but is merely speculating based on what we have seen on WWE TV recently.
At this time, it is unclear when this feud is going to be taking place if WWE is considering it, but having Sheamus challenge Drew McIntyre immediately after Survivor Series heading into TLC would make sense.
