Next WWE Main Roster Call Up Revealed?

This week on NXT, Rhea Ripley was unable to recapture the NXT Women’s Championship after being defeated in a fantastic singles match by Io Shirai. Some have speculated that this could be Rhea’s final match with the brand.

One of those speculating that Rhea may be heading to pastures new is Dave Meltzer, who stated on the Wrestling Observer Radio that the match made him think that Ripley is going to be on Raw or SmackDown before too long:

“My impression is from watching [the match] is that Rhea is going to the main roster… I just think this is the way to just finish up the story because even the way that they hugged and everything at the end. I could be wrong  and no one has told me but I have definitely heard talk of Rhea Ripley going to the main roster.”

It’s important to note that Meltzer is not reporting that Rhea Ripley is officially done with NXT, but it is certainly interesting to hear that he has heard from people within WWE that there has been talks of bringing her up to the main roster.

Even in the subsequent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has noted that Rhea Ripley could be unveiled as the newest member of Team SmackDown for Survivor Series on tonight’s show:

The Smackdown team has Belair & Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan, with two spots left. The best guesses would be names like Rhea Ripley (as her loss to Io Shirai came across as an NXT blow-off and she’s been long overdue to be on the main roster although you can say that about many women in NXT)
