Former WWE star Paige hosted a Twitch stream alongside Nia Jax, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Renee Young and Natalya this past week, and Nia was very keen to discuss a certain subject.
She spoke about Alexa Bliss, who outside of the kayfabe world is very close with Nia, and explained that she once complained to WWE management as Alexa was consistently being hurt in the ring by “somebody”.
“I remember her [Bliss] not saying anything, specifically because she wanted to be a team player. She was so nervous, she wanted to be a team player, she didn’t want to be somebody who is like ‘oh, I can’t do this’. But me, personally from the outside looking in, I was so angry, I was like ‘no!’. She cannot do this anymore. I personally would not allow her to get back in the ring to get hurt again.
“I had to go to the higher ups and I had to put down a stern foot and say ‘look, Alexa is 5ft nothing, 100 pounds, being thrown around like a little rag doll, and being injured every night. I was like ‘put me in, I am a 6ft, 300 pound bitch, I can handle it.”
She went on to say that she wants Alexa to be able to wrestle for years to come, and that she won’t be able to do that if she’s getting hurt every night.
While Jax didn’t mention any names, Alexa Bliss has publicly spoken about being hurt during her feud with Ronda Rousey in 2018. It was a feud dominated by Ronda and her MMA in-ring style, and Alexa took almost 100% of the offense.
Natalya, who helped train Ronda, was on the stream too, so I wonder what she thought of Jax’s comments.
