Nia Jax SNAPS at WWE Live Event in MSG

It’s been brewing for countless months and on the March 16th WWE live event from Madison Square Garden, Nia Jax officially split from Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Mickie James.

The groundwork for the divide was laid on last weeks Monday Night Raw when, after easily decimating a local talent, Nia Jax saw a live backstage stream of Alexa Bliss and Mickie James laying into her verbally. Some of the words were truly disgusting – you’d have thought Mickie James would have known better considering the whole ‘Piggy James’ debacle with Michelle McCool and Layla El. Witnessing this prompted Nia Jax to see the light and hunt the pair down. Once she found the vacated dressing room from which the stream was broadcasting, Nia Jax tore apart empty suitcases and prop clothes.

Fast forward four days later and Alexa Bliss successfully retained her WWE Raw Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Bayley and Sasha Banks. Shortly after the match, Nia Jax made her way to the ring to confront her former best friend, saving Sasha Banks in the process. Nia Jax received what appeared to be a groveling apology followed by a big embrace from the tiny Bliss.

Finally, Nia Jax had enough. Refusing to release the cuddle, Nia Jax hoisted Alexa Bliss into a bearhug and tossed her around like a rag doll but was thwarted in her attempts at a slam when Mickie James intervened, saving the real physicality for their assumed WrestleMania 34 match. Making do with the substitute, Nia Jax blasted Mickie James with a Samoan drop leaving us no question about the pair and their storyline is heading in the weeks to come.

In other results from the Madison Square Garden live event:

  • Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura never happened when the heel duo tore into the WWE Champion, causing a storyline injury.
  • Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens via disqualification when Sami Zayn interfered. To counteract the handicap attack, AJ Styles hobbled back to the squared circle with a steel chair to save his WrestleMania 34 opponent.
  • Cedric Alexander bested Drew Gulak.
  • Asuka walked over Mandy Rose via submission with the Asuka Lock.
  • Bray Wyatt pinned ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy.
  • The Bar prevailed over Titus Worldwide, The New Day, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a Fatal 4 Way to retain the Raw Tag Team Championships.
  • Brock Lesnar demolished Kane and Braun Strowman to retain the WWE Universal Championship in a triple threat match. Following the match, The Bar put Braun Strowman through a table.
  • John Cena and Nikki Bella defeated Elias and Sonya Deville. Bayley was originally advertised as Elias’ partner but was instead inserted into the Raw Women’s Championship triple threat, furthering the storyline between her and Sasha Banks by walking out on Sasha Banks during her post-match beatdown.
  • Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor toppled The Miz and The Miztourage.
