In an interview with Busted Open Radio earlier this week, Nick Aldis confirmed that he has signed a contract extension with NWA.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that Aldis had some interest in AEW before choosing to extend his agreement with NWA.
Aldis reportedly spoke with Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels about AEW after his initial NWA contract expired.
Nick Aldis notably played a major role at All In 2018, AEW’s precursor event. During the show, Cody Rhodes defeated Aldis to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
Per the report, Aldis’ new NWA deal is for one year, and will see the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion working as a wrestler, and behind the scenes editing and producing content.
