Plans for a potential Nigel McGuinness’ AEW Forbidden Door title match have been confirmed.
Tonight’s AEW Collision saw the announcement of a number one contender’s match for Zack Sabre Jr.’s IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Billed as a “technical spectacle”, it was announced that AEW commentator Nigel McGuinness will be taking on Daniel Garcia, Hechicero and Lee Moriarty in a four-way on next Saturday’s episode of Collision August 16 – with the winner of the match advancing to face Sabre Jr. in London.
While we won’t know who will earn the shot at Sabre Jr. until next week, a match between he and McGuinness would be the first time the two technical greats have faced off in a singles match.
AEW Forbidden Door 2025 is also set to take place in both men’s home country of England – at London’s 02 Arena.
McGuinness last competed inside the ring at AEW Double or Nothing 2025, when he and Daniel Garcia fell to defeat against FTR.
We will provide updates on any more AEW Forbidden Door 2025 match announcements as they happen.
