AEW’s Nigel McGuinness has commented on his upcoming championship qualifier, ahead of Forbidden Door.

With the AEW and NJPW crossover event taking place on August 24 at The O2 in London, England, Nigel McGuinness will have the opportunity to earn his way onto the show taking place in his home country.

McGuinness will be one of four stars competing in the IWGP World Heavyweight Title #1 contender’s four-way on the August 16 Collision episode, with either McGuinness, Hechicero, Lee Moriarty or Daniel Garcia to challenge for Zack Sabre Jr’s gold at Forbidden Door.

Nigel McGuinness has now taken to Twitter to address this four-way announcement, noting that he won’t let this opportunity slip away.

The AEW announcer wrote:

“Leaving this here – steep training curve – but I’m leaving everything in the ring to take this opportunity…”

This four-way will be Nigel McGuinness’ fifth match since returning to the ring after over 12 years away in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In London 2024.

His most recent bout saw him and Daniel Garcia lose to Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR at Double or Nothing in May.
