WWE made a shake up to it’s announce teams back in October, which included Kevin Patrick heading up Raw announcing, and Wade Barrett standing in for Pat McAfee on SmackDown.
During the process, WWE released former NXT announcer Nigel McGuinness, who was providing commentary on NXT Level Up at the time alongside Sudu Shah.
McGuinness had yet to comment publicly since his departure from WWE, but took to Twitter yesterday on his 47th birthday to send his appreciation to the fans for their support.
He said:
Appreciate all the kind wishes. Good year ahead.
McGuinness’ former co-commentator Sudu Shah also recently announced his WWE departure, with neither of the two currently working for the company.
Byron Saxton, who replaced McGuinness on Level Up, provided commentary alongside Matt Camp for last week’s show.
Appreciate all the kind wishes. Good year ahead.
