Nikki Bella Recalls John Cena Reunion At WWE Royal Rumble 2025

Former two-time WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella has recalled her reunion with ex-fiancé John Cena at the 2025 Royal Rumble.

This year’s Royal Rumble Premium Live Event saw the surprise return of Nikki Bella, entering at number 30 in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Also making his return to a WWE ring at the same event was 16-time former world champion John Cena, with the Rumble event kicking off his year long WWE farewell tour.

Speaking to Kristan Cavallari on ‘Let’s Be Honest’ via PEOPLE, Bella described her brief reunion with Cena backstage at the event:

“It was very quick, I was in a circle talking to people. He came to [shake] everyone’s hand. He shook my hand. But the thing was, when he walked away, all the girls were like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I’m like, ‘Shh, shh, He’s married, be respectful.’ And that was it.

“That was nice, and it was great because breaking the ice and you know, we just both happened to be back at the same time. It’s a good feeling.”

Cena and Bella dated between 2012 and 2018, and while Cena would famously propose to Bella at WrestleMania 33 after their mixed tag team match against The Miz and Maryse, they ultimately never got married and split a year after the engagement.

Bella would later marry Artem Chigvintsev in 2022 before divorcing in 2024, while Cena has been married to Shay Shariatzadeh since 2020.

It’s unclear when we will see Bella back on WWE TV, but she has confirmed that more appearances are coming in the company, even teasing her sister Brie Bella also returning.

Cena is set for a main event match with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 and will come face-to-face with The American Nightmare for the first time since his heel turn at Elimination Chamber on tomorrow night’s WWE Raw in Brussels (March 17).
