As we know, John Cena and Nikki Bella used to be engaged, but both have now moved on and are with other people. It even emerged that John Cena got married to Shay Shariatzadeh last month.
Nikki Bella has also reached a milestone of her own after getting to Artem Chigvintsev earlier this year. The couple welcomed their first child, Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev at the end of July 2020.
During an appearance on Us Weekly, Nikki Bella revealed that John Cena actually reached out to her earlier this year after she gave birth to his first child. Here’s what the former Divas Champion had to say on the matter:
“So with the baby, he reached out to Brie and I both. We haven’t had an individual conversation in gosh, I don’t know how long, but it was very short and sweet!”
Despite no longer being together, Nikki maintained that she and Cena are on very good terms. She noted that she’s happy to see the former WWE Champion “kicking butt in the movie world”:
“John and I will be tied forever. I get that, like, we had a public relationship on a reality show for six years. All I’ve ever wanted was for him to be happy. So, it makes me happy when I see that and, like, him kicking butt in the movie world and all that stuff. I love that!”
As we’ve already covered, Nikki and Brie teased a potential return to WWE in the interview after both giving birth earlier this year. You can read more about that story by clicking here.
