NJPW 47th Anniversary Show Lineup Revealed

New Japan Pro Wrestling’s 47th Anniversary show will take place on March 6th. Now, the lineup for the show has been officially revealed with a champion vs. champion match in the main event.

IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White will take on the NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay in a non-title match in the main event. Ospreay was also in the main event of last year’s anniversary event, falling to then-IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada.

The 47th Anniversary show will also feature two championship matches. IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori will defend his gold against the legendary Jushin Thunder Liger. This will be Ishimori’s second defence of the title. Meanwhile, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions BUSHI and Shingo Takagi will put their titles on the line against SHO and YOH.

• IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Match – Taiji Ishimori (c) vs. Jushin Thunder Liger
• IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Match – Shingo Takagi & BUSHI (c) vs. SHO & YOH
• Satoshi Kojima, Tomoaki Honma, Tiger Mask IV, Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Lee vs. Minoru Suzuki, Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado & Taka Michinoku
• Yuji Nagata & Toa Henare vs. Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI
• Togi Makabe, Toru Yano, Ayato Yoshida, Shota Umino & Ren Narita vs. Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, Chase Owens & Hikuleo
