A social media post from a popular wrestler has suggested that a popular NJPW tag team are no longer paired in the company.
Aussie Open had made appearances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling starting at NJPW Royal Quest in August 2019.
The COVID-19 pandemic had made it difficult for the pair to work more consistently, but they would eventually return to New Japan working on NJPW Strong and eventually making their way over to Japan for the World Tag League in November 2022.
In between, they would make appearances across the independent wrestling scene and in Revolution Pro Wrestling taking with Will Ospreay and joining the United Empire stable.
They would also appear on AEW Dynamite in June 2022 and on other occasions, including at the AEW and NJPW Forbidden Door show in June 2022.
Mark Davis, one-half of Aussie Open posted on Twitter:
“The last time i saw Kyle was the morning our flight landed after World Tag League
“Aussie Open have no contracted deals
“Aussie Open have no confirmed tag bookings
“Sometimes you can put everything you have into something
“Sometimes it’s not enough.”
Whilst Aussie Open “have no contracted deals” or “tag bookings”, both members are listed as in the New Japan Cup.
They are, however, listed on different sides of the bracket.
