NJPW has crowned its winner for the Best of the Super Juniors 29 tournament.
A Block winner Hiromu Takahashi faced off against B Block winner El Desperado during Friday’s (June 3) final. Takahashi ultimately picked up the victory, pinning El Desperado after a Time Bomb II.
Takahashi’s victory makes him the first star to win the Best of the Super Juniors tournament four times, taking home the trophy in 2018, 2020, 2021 and now 2022. The popular star has notably won the last three Best of the Super Juniors tournaments, and four out of the five most recent competitions.
Takahashi has earned a shot at Taiji Ishimori’s IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship, with the title bout expected to take place at the June 12 Dominion pay-per-view.
Earlier in the night, Bullet Club gained another non-NJPW member, which you can read about right here.
